Cameron was charged in early 2024 with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 < 400G. He faced up to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was found in possession of over 5,000 pills of fentanyl in a small county. With an in-depth mitigation investigation and package presentation, in 2025 Cameron was offered the minimum in his case for 20 years, cutting his original plea offer down significantly.

The mitigation package illustrated Cameron’s life in a way that a criminal investigation into his actions never would. It revealed his devotion to his two sons and his continued involvement and presence in their lives. His family contributed by writing character letters detailing who Cameron was to them, and how he had been there for them throughout their lives and throughout his addiction. Education records were located that contained a psychological evaluation revealing an untreated diagnosis for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In combination with the facts of the case, it was evident to both the state and the defense that his untreated diagnosis was clearly linked to his relationship with the drug dealer who threatened and coerced him to take more illegal contraband than he intended.

As a 3G offense, he was required to serve at least 50% of that sentence before parole eligibility. Cameron’s mitigation package was submitted to the Texas Pardons and Paroles Board by TXMI upon the family noticing his parole eligibility date appeared in the system for April 2026, which seemed odd and unusual.

Cameron was granted parole in June 2026, and will be home with his family by January 2027.

Tiffany was charged with Theft <$100 in 2025. Because of her criminal history, she faced prison time. With no family to support her, this put her two sons at risk of being placed in foster case.

A full spectrum mitigation package revealed that Tiffany was a product of the foster care system, herself. Her criminal history being over 12 years removed from her present self, added a thin layer of padding to who she was in terms of her charge. Our life history report illustrated how Tiffany was placed in the foster care system, the challenges she faced, and the repercussions of how that system impacted her both in her past and in her present self. Her mitigation package effectively showed the state that not only was Tiffany a good candidate for probation, but that they could circumvent the risk associated with placing her two teenage boys in the same cyclical system that created her. Additionally, we demonstrated the positive aspects of Tiffany’s person- her generosity, kindness, adversity to substance use, and much more.

Tiffany was offered deferred probation late 2025, and is still succeeding today.

Cody was charged in late 2024 with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 4G<200G. He faced anywhere from 5 to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was found in possession of fentanyl pills, which law enforcement believed him to be delivering to another individual.

The mitigation package detailed how Cody was raised. Cody was under 21 at the time he was sentenced. His life history showed that he was groomed to be a drug user and a drug dealer by the very person who was supposed to protect him and his siblings. He was not just failed by his parent, he was diminished by them. While in custody during his pre-cursor interviews for his mitigation package, he demonstrated his kindness, openness, his will to be something more than what he was. He showed his youthful disposition, his goofy personality, and the fact that he was still a kid in his heart. His mitigation package definitively and effectively illustrated the key facts that impacted his ability to make positive choices and place him in a position of disadvantage. Those factors included, but were not limited to:

  • Poverty
  • Family history of addiction
  • Willful lack of parental supervision, support, and skills
  • Emotional abuse
  • Gross childhood neglect
  • Homelessness
  • Lack of a support system
  • Lack of a fit male role model
  • Lack of resources during childhood and young adulthood

His academic records from a small independent school district were located and retained. A note by his school nurse showed that Cody suffered an overdose at home in the hours before school started one day, and that his parent administered Narcan without seeking medical attention for her son. His school records showed that he was cared for more by strangers at school than he was in his own home.

With a focused mitigation assessment package, in 2025 Cody was sentenced to 8 years in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 4G<200G which effectively cut the state’s offer in half. Cody was incredibly thankful and saw this as a blessing and an opportunity for his future.

Cody is still incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice awaiting parole review.

Morgan faced a Motion to Revoke her probation after absconding for 2 years on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 1G<4G.

During the investigation for her full spectrum mitigation package, what became clear was that Morgan had a minor role in the crime she was charged with. It also became evident that Morgan fled out of fear. As a Black mother to two young daughters in a predominantly white country town, she knew that being taken away from her children meant they would be unprotected in the same community she was tormented in during her own youth.

Morgan was adopted into a white family as a child who loved her dearly. However, they were not able to protect her from the maltreatment and bigotry in school or social situations. Morgan was a victim of numerous crimes, and only feared her daughters facing the same without her there to protect them. Another mitigation component to Morgan’s story was the father of her two children was murdered in cold-blood. This particular component, bolstered by other factors in her particular case, granted the prosecutor an empathetic disposition to offer Morgan a break.

Morgan was given a 6-month jail sentence, and placed back on probation to finish her original judgement. She has since served those 6 months, and is back home with her beautiful daughters and family.
